Chrysocolla was a beloved gemstone by royalty in the ancient world. It is said to have been used by Queen Cleopatra and King Solomon. The first mention of this beautiful blue – green gemstone was in 315BC. Chrysocolla is a copper stone and is often found with Malachite and Azurite. It is named from the Greek word for “gold glue” because of it’s use in soldering gold.
