Featured Stone – Green Fluorite

Fluorite is a mineral that is composed of calcium and fluorine and forms in isometric crystals such as cubes and octahedrons, but can have other shapes. It’s used in many industrial applications like steel manufacturing, glass etching and ceramics. In Ontario, there were many Fluorite mines in operation in the last century, many of which are now closed. It is a relatively soft stone at a 4 on the Mohs scale and tends to be a difficult stone to tumble. Fluorite comes in green, blue, purple and yellow colours and combinations of all four colours in some specimens. It is truly a beautiful stone! This pendant features rough green Fluorite which is found in many areas right here in my home province. When I look at this beautiful shade of green, I’m reminded of the seafoam green of a lovely ocean and the green hue of a lovely forest.

Green Fluorite is an excellent stone that is known as a gentle healer and detoxifier and energizer of all chakras especially when placed on the throat or heat chakra. It is truly an all purpose stone promoting healing on all levels. Do you need to get back into touch with nature and the outdoors? Fluorite is helpful in restoring those ties to the Earth and the great outdoors. It also helps to promote self-love and can be helpful in removing blockages and narrow mindedness, leading to creativity and new ideas.

Featured Stone – Prehnite

This pendant features Prehnite, a beautiful green stone primarily made up of calcium and aluminum. Iron inclusions are sometimes found in Prehnite resulting in a darker orange-yellow colour. It has a crystalline structure which gives it a glittery appearance. It is primarily found in South Africa and Australia. Needless to say, it is not found along the shores of our Great Lakes and is one that was purchased to set in the driftwood pendants we produce. It is truly a beautiful stone!

This is a stone for intuition, premonition and dreaming. It’s also excellent for healing, promoting changes in our thoughts and feelings as well as opening blocks in awareness. Prehnite links the Heart Chakra directly with the Solar Plexus. Do you need help in learning to lead with your heart? This stone might help. Prehnite is known as the “stone of prediction” because of its ability to bridge the gap between the spiritual and physical world. It’s an excellent stone for all forms of divination as well as astral travel and connecting with spirit guides.

We’re Busy Creating More Beauties From Nature!

Take a look at four of the latest eleven driftwood pendants created at our shop!

The grain of the wood is just amazing and really stands out once the first coat of preservative is applied! In the early stages of cutting, shaping and sanding, the colours and grain of the wood is not prominent. Applying the clear coat to protect and enhance the driftwood is one of my favorite parts of this process. It’s very rewarding to me and the end product is almost always a surprise. Once this step is complete and the coverage looks good, these pendants will move on to affixing the carefully chosen stones with epoxy and attaching the jewelry hardware. I look forward to show casing all eleven in a few days!

As for these four lovely creations, they feature Turquoise, Quartz, Rainbow Moonstone and Blue Goldstone. Turquoise is known for providing balance, truth and wisdom and is associated with the throat chakra. Quartz is a very common stone and comes in many different forms. Clear quartz is known for cleansing, amplifying and healing. It is associated with the crown chakra. Rainbow Moonstone helps with new beginnings, inner peace and calm and is associated with both the third eye and crown chakra. Blue Goldstone assists with inspiration, optimism and dreaming and is associated with the throat chakra.

Please follow the journey of these pendants as they make their way to the final stage!
